Coffee Companion was born through an act of gifting. At the end of one year, Chantelle gifted a jar of a variety of cookies, that would typically be baked over Christmas, to a supplier. The gift was so well received that the recipient asked to buy another. Chantelle thought that spreading the joy of these family treats may be a great side hustle but also a great way flex her baking muscles more than once a year.
The forced downtime during covid allowed time to cost and try different recipes for which family members were all too happy to taste test. Once a menu was established, and after a couple of Whatsapp sales, cakes and cupcakes were also requested. There have been some very fun creations including a three-tiered wedding cake.
Coffee companion is built of an affinity for gifting and a love for sharing food. Supplying cakes for birthdays and celebratory teas, to gifting cookies for new jobs and salon sales, there is always a place for a tasty morsel.
